Recently, the 50Mvar distributed condenser developed by Wolong Electric Nanyang Explosion Protection Group Co., Ltd. was officially unveiled in Nanyang, Henan Province. Against the backdrop of the in-depth implementation of the "Dual Carbon" strategy, the large-scale grid integration of new energy sources such as wind and solar power has become an industry trend. However, the intermittency, volatility, and randomness of new energy generation have led to common grid challenges, including insufficient transient voltage support, sluggish dynamic reactive power response, and weak system stability — issues that severely constrain new energy consumption and the safe and stable operation of the power grid. The deployment of distributed condensers precisely addresses these industry pain points.


As a type of synchronous motor operating under special conditions, the distributed condenser, when applied in power systems, can automatically increase reactive power output when grid voltage drops and absorb reactive power when grid voltage rises, thereby maintaining grid voltage and improving system power supply quality. It provides fast voltage regulation, wide-band oscillation suppression, and increased short-circuit ratio for new energy stations, acting as a "stabilizer" and "ballast" for new energy systems.
