Hair-Pin motor(PCV )
Compared to traditional round-wire motors, the shape of the conductors used in the stator windings of hair-pin motors has changed, with windings shifting from multiple thin round wires to several thick rectangular conductors. Due to this change in winding design, hair-pin motors achieve the same power output with a smaller volume and less material usage than traditional round-wire motors. Within the same volume, hair-pin motors can accommodate 20% to 30% more conductors, resulting in a higher slot fill factor, which contributes to increased power density. Secondly, the winding design of hair pins increases the contact area between conductors and reduces internal gaps. When combined with oil-cooling methods, heat dissipation and thermal conduction are improved, enabling hair-pin motors to withstand higher instantaneous power.
